The Pastoral Search Team

The Pastoral Seach Team was called by God through the Elders of East Hills based on the following criteria:

  • They have an obvious, growing relationship with God
  • They demonstrate wise decision making, now and in the past
  • They are currently active in East Hills and have been involved in ministry for the last two years

Through a process of prayer and discussion, the Elders arrived at the following list of people and invited them to be a part of the Pastoral Search Team.  Each of them accepted the call to be a part of this vital and exciting task - to discern the will of God in calling a new Senior Pastor to East Hills Community Church.

Chris Castro

Chris (and her husband Nick) have been attending East Hills for almost 3 years.  She is part of the 3 Strands Marriage Ministry Leadership Team and LIFE Group that meets on 1st and 3rd Friday nights of each month.

Diane Dieckmeyer

Diane (and her husband Dave) have been attending East Hills since it's inception and were part of the original planting team and are Charter Members.  Diane is part of the 3 Strands Marriage Ministry Leadership Team and co-leads their LIFE Group on Friday nights.

Elva Johnson

Elva (and her husband Les) have been attending East Hills for over 6 years.  She is a part of the Women's Ministry Leadership Team and leads the Women's Tuesday night LIFE Group.

Jeff Kurtz

Jeff (and his wife Beth) have been attending East Hills for over 9 years.  He serves as one of our Deacons and is part of the 3 Strands Marriage Ministry Leadership Team.  He attends the 3 Strands LIFE Group and the Men's LIFE Group on Tuesday nights.

Chai Pungaew

Chai (and his wife Karen) have been attending East Hills for over 5 years.  He serves as one of our Deacons and is a part of the Men's LIFE Group on Tuesday nights.

Pastor John Stewart

Pastor John Stewart (and his wife Patti) have been attending East Hills for over a year - when he was hired as the Associate Pastor.  He is the staff and Elder liason on the team.  He also leads the Stewart LIFE Group on Thursday nights in Moreno Valley.
