Women of G.R.A.C.E. (Growing, Rejoicing, Abiding, Caring, Equipping)
“East Hills Women’s Ministry will actively reach out to women to draw them to the heart of God and life changing power of the cross through ministry, events and relationships”
The Women of G.R.A.C.E. ministry is designed to enable all women of East Hills Community Church to experience the fellowship of sisterhood in Christ as we build our relationships with God. It is our desire that our love for God and each other would be evident to all and our lives reflect our foundational verse, “Show wisdom by your good lives, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. The wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere” (James 3:13,17).
At East Hills Community Church we have many opportunities for ladies to get connected to one another, and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We strive to build each other up as sisters, as well as to develop life-long friendships. Our goal is to work together in His service, producing fruit, and becoming the Godly women that He created us to be.
Through our many events and ministries, we are sure to have something that should interest you and build you up as well. We are excited to welcome you at anytime to our retreats, luncheons, LIFE Groups, or any other of our events.
LIFE Groups
As we believe that women are called to grow in the knowledge of God’s Word as the foundation for a fruitful life, we provide midweek Bible studies, known as LIFE Groups at East Hills Community Church. Women LIFE groups meet on Tuesday night at 7 pm and on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am. The Wednesday morning study, which meets at the church, provides childcare.
These LIFE groups, along with our other events and programs, give us an opportunity to rejoice with each other through the struggles of life and enjoy fun and fellowship together. Our goal is to provide many different growth and ministry opportunities for women to explore their unique calling and giftedness and to grow closer to God, while developing lifelong relationships with other women. Come join us!
Women’s Retreat
The Women’s Retreat, typically held in the spring of each year, is a time of refreshment and renewal for women. Speakers, worship, small group discussions, and free time are the back-bone of the retreat. More importantly, it is an opportunity for women to connect with one another and to pray and encourage one another. Retreats typically begin on a Friday evening and conclude on Sunday at noon. The next Women’s Retreat will be scheduled for the spring of 2012.
Secret Sisters
Women are invited to participate in this ministry of caring and sharing with another sister in Christ. Participating women are given a “sister” for which they pray, encourage, and celebrate. This is done anonymously (hence the word “secret”) until the end of the program at the “Secret Sister Reveal” potluck.
Supporting Our Sisters (S.O.S.)
The purpose of the S.O.S. Ministry is to give the women of East Hills Community Church the opportunity to experience growth in their Christian walk by participating in one-on-one supporting and encouraging mentoring friendships. Supporting is coming alongside another woman and teaching her to go to the Lord and His Word for all the answers. Supporting relationships are typically established for a six-month time frame.
Virtuous Handcrafters
This inspiring group meets every Tuesday morning at 9 am at the church to work on various crafts together. Lasting friendships are developed as the women share their talents, gifts, and lives together.
Women of GRACE Newsletter
Ministry opportunities are communicated through flyers, announcements, the Women’s Ministry Table in the church lobby, and through the Women of GRACE Newsletter. The quarterly newsletter has various articles about upcoming ministry events, ongoing LIFE groups, book reviews, recipes, and other various areas of interest.
Women’s Leadership Team
We believe that leadership is critical to the successful execution of our mission and vision. The Leadership Team meets monthly to pray, plan, and discuss the various ministry opportunities for the Women of East Hills.
Women’s Ministry Team
A vital part of the Women's Ministry is this group of women who assist the Leadership Team in accomplishing our mission and vision. They also help us think outside the box to reach more women with the gospel and bringing women closer together as "sisters in Christ."
